Printing it Yourself:
Your software: |
| |
You will need a computer program such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher or another such word processing or publishing program. As all software is different, these instructions are extremely general and you will need to refer to your software program for help if these steps do not work with your computer, software and printer. |
|
| |
|
|
| Layout your Text: |
|
| |
Layout the "wording" for your invitation in a text box (or whatever your software requires) the size of your invitation. |
| |
|
| Portrait or Landscape Orientation: |
| |
Cut pieces of sample paper (such as copy paper) to the same size as your invitation. Insert the test paper into your printer, set the printer to "portrait" or "landscape" setting as determined by the orientation of your invitation. |
| |
|
| Paper Tray or Manual Feed: |
| |
Because of the weight of the paper or paper tray size limitations, it is usually adviseable to use the manual feed on your printer for your invitations. You would usually change these settings in your printer "properties" settings. |
| |
|
| Test Printing: |
| |
Make sure you know whether to feed your invitations face up or face down in your printer BEFORE you actually print on the invitations. To test whether face up or face down is the right way for your printer, write "face up" on the top of a piece of your sample size paper, load the sample in the printer tray or manual feed with "face up" words facing up, then print your invitation text. If the words "face up" are not on the same side as your invitation text, then you will need to feed the actual invitations face down or your text will print on the back of the invitations. |
| |
|
| Adjusting the Text: |
| |
Place your printed sample over the top of one of your invitations, hold up to the light and see if the printing on the sample will print correctly on the invitation. If is is not right, move the text or text box in your software program, change the size of the font, etc. and print samples until you have achieved the correct position of your text as it should appear on your printed invitation. |
| |
|
| Print: |
| |
Once you are satisified with the samples you have printed, we suggest you print one "real" invitation and if it is correct, you can then print the rest of the invitations. |
| |
|
| Envelope Return Addresses: |
| |
Don't forget to put your return address on your envelopes. You want the post office to return them to you, not throw them away if there is a problem! |
| |
|
Have a great party! |
