Lemonade Invitation and Hard Lemonade Recipe

Lemonade Birthday Invitation

Lemonade Birthday Invitation

Last weekend my sister and I were trying to come up with an afternoon cocktail recipe that felt like summer.  I love mai tais and anything with rum, but rarely have the fruit juices on hand to make them. After looking through what I did have in the house, I remembered a recipe I hadn’t made in a long time – “Hard Lemonade” and thankfully, the only thing hard about it is the name.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can frozen lemonade made with 3 cans of water – not the 4 1/3 cans called for
  • 1 bottle of beer makes 2 drinks
  • Vodka or lemon flavored vodka

To make individual drinks:

  • Fill glass half full of ice
  • Fill half full with lemonade
  • Add one shot of vodka (more to your tastes)
  • Fill full with beer
  • Stir and enjoy!

For a low calorie/low sugar version substitute:

  • Crystal light lemonade – use about a third less water to retain a lemonade flavor when the beer is added
  • One of the new 55-64 calorie beers

And yes, the beer is great in the lemonade, it makes it really smooth!

Kids Birthday Traditions to Start with Your Child

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

It’s never too late to start a birthday tradition with your child. Do you remember something fun from birthdays when you were a child? Why not start a tradition you and your child can look forward to year after year.

Fantasy Cake Kids Birthday Invitation

  1. Let them pick out their birthday party invitations, decorations and food to be served, even if it’s just a party with family as the guests.
  2. Let them help make or decorate their birthday cake or cupcakes the night before their birthday.
  3. Wake them up by singing “Happy Birthday” and throw in some hugs and tickles to start off their special day.
  4. Fill their room with their favorite color balloons (make sure they are old enough for the balloons not to be a hazard.)
  5. Create a treasure hunt for little birthday goodies you’ve hidden around the house or in their room.
  6. Let them choose their favorite breakfast. If they choose something besides cereal, put candles in it if possible.
  7. Let them choose their favorite restaurant or dinner for the whole family to enjoy together that night.
  8. Put a special note or birthday card in their school lunch.
  9. Give them a few “love coupons” that entitle them to something they love – popcorn and an extra half hour of TV before bed; pancakes on a Saturday morning; extended play date at their favorite little gym or the park.
  10. Plant a tree or a plant.
  11. Create a time capsule. Ask your child several questions, video tape their answers and then store the tapes away in a special box to be opened later, maybe at their 21st birthday. (You might want to transfer to DVD to survive the years.)
  12. Make a scrap book of birthday cards they receive every year.

Do you have a favorite birthday tradition? We’d love to hear from you.

Magic Invitations and an Amazing Card Trick

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

Magic invitations are a popular theme for kid’s birthday invitations.  You can find an entertainer for your birthday bunch through the internet, referrals from friends or local newspapers specializing in children or parenting.  We had a magician for my son’s second birthday party and he was totally enthralled through the whole show as were all the guests.

This YouTube video of James Galea at The 2009 Melbourne International Comedy Festival Gala for Oxfam Australia, will have you saying, “How did he do that?”  Enjoy!

Stars and Gift Boxes Birthday Invitation

Stars and Gift Boxes Birthday Invitation

You’ve decided to have a party, but what do you have printed on the invitations?

Use this checklist to make sure you haven’t forgotten anything when creating your party invitations:

Purpose of the invitation:  A birthday party, a wedding, a holiday open house.

– Name of honoree:  The birthday person, the mother-to-be, the bride and groom

– Day and Date of the Party:  Saturday, August 29th or if it is formal, Saturday, the twenty-ninth of August. Be sure to double check that your date is really on the day of the week you think (the 29th of August is really a Saturday.) If a formal event, include the year and spell it out (two thousand and sixteen)

About Us

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

We design our own line of invitations as well as offering some of the best designs from leading printing companies.  We print your invitations ourselves, in-house. You’re not ordering from a book and we aren’t forwarding your order to another printer to process and print.

We process and ship your order usually within 3-5 business days of its receipt.  We know there are companies that print and ship quicker, but we take the time to typeset each order one at a time by our expert typesetting “people”, we are not a “computer generated” invitation printer.  We have found that taking the extra time to have you view a FREE typeset on-line before your order prints and ships makes everyone happy and every order perfect!

Our customer service representatives are available to help you with any questions you may have by email or phone.  We’re glad you found us and we look forward to working with you!
