Green Beer on Plaid St. Patrick’s Day Party Invitations

Tuesday, January 10th, 2017

If green beer is a must for you on St. Patrick’s Day, it’s easy to do at home or for your party. Just a drop of green food coloring in the glass or mug before you pour the beer, will result in a fun green concoction everyone will enjoy. For the greenest beer, you’ll need a light colored brew. A dark or stout beer may produce green foam, but it will be hard to tell it’s green when the foam is gone.

A pint of green beer on a green plaid background is a fun way to invite guests to your St. Patrick's Day party. Come see our entire collection of St. Patrick's Day Invitations at Announcingit.com

Our Green Beer on Plaid St. Patrick’s Day Party Invitations is the perfect invitation to invite guests for green beer and malarkey at your St. Patrick’s Day party.

Why Green for St. Patrick’s Day?

Why Green on St Patricks Day

St. Patrick’s Day falls on March 17th every year (supposedly the day he died) in honor of St. Patrick himself. But do you know why green is the color of St. Patrick’s Day?

Wearing of the green traces back to when Ireland was separated and the Catholics lived on the “green side” and the Protestants lived on the “orange side.” The Irish flag is green, orange and white. Green represents the catholic side of Ireland, orange the Protestants and white represents those where were neutral and were composed of the descendants of the Celts.

So why do everything up green on St. Patrick’s Day? Because the term “saint” is more a Catholic term than a Protestant one, the green of the Irish flag represents the Catholics, and that’s why green is the color for St. Patrick’s Day!
