Thrillerman Halloween Party Invitation

Thrillerman Halloween Party Invitation

Slumber parties are not just for girls or for birthdays!

A great pajama party idea for girls and boys is a monster movie marathon. Choose the scary movies you want to show, get permission from guest’s parents that they approve their showing, then pop the popcorn, serve the pizza and get ready for some screaming. If your guests are young, show cartoons with their favorite monster characters.

Halloween is a great time for this kind of party. After trick or treating, everyone can change into their pajamas, grab their pillows and settle in for a fun night of screams, giggles and candy overload.

Dinner Party Invitations set the Tone from Announcingit

Monday, August 30th, 2010

How do you get guests to come to your dinner party? First, send a great printed invitation. Custom printed invitations let guests know that you really are having a party and you are serious about having them attend.  An off-hand remark when you saw them at the grocery store or a casual email invite just doesn’t have the same impact as an invitation received in the mail.

Use your dinner party invitation to the tone for the party. It lets guests know if they are attending a casual barbeque outdoors, a themed party or a formal sit down affair.  Here are just a few of our favorite new invites.

Guide to Planning a Bridal Shower

Wedding Couple Bridal Shower Invitation

Wedding Couple Bridal Shower Invitation

A bridal shower is one of those parties you can throw that will be fun and yet practical at the same time. While the purpose of the bridal shower is to give the bride things that can be used in her marriage, another fun reason is that it allows some hours away from the planning and stress of the wedding itself, for the bride and family to just play games and have some good clean fun.

The bridal shower is the perfect occasion to share funny family stories and for friends and relatives to gather to give the bride advice and support for her marriage. It is also another occasion which the bride gets to be the princess of the day, without having to deal with all of the stress of the wedding itself. It is a much more casual and comfortable event than the actual wedding or reception generally are.

In planning a bridal shower, it is generally the responsibility of the maid-of-honor and the bridesmaids. While it used to be considered poor etiquette for anyone else to host the bridal shower, today it is perfectly acceptable. However, it is vital in your planning that you take into account the bride’s wishes and don’t make any plans or games which could make her feel uncomfortable or angry. You should consult with the bride and ask what she would like for her shower. Generally, it is best not to have a surprise bridal shower unless it is far before the wedding and you think the bride would really appreciate one.

The bridal shower should be held between two to eight weeks prior to the wedding date. Only invited guests of the wedding itself should be invited to the bridal shower. The time of your bridal shower is up to you and the bride; however the standard tradition is generally in the early afternoon. Today some people hold their bridal showers at a spa or even on the beach for a BBQ and party; it just depends on the wishes of the bride and groom. (more…)

How to Throw a Bridal ShowerHaving a lingerie shower for the bride-to-be is a great way to get the bride ready for her honeymoon and guaranteed to put a smile on the groom’s face.

1. It is a good idea to ask the bride if a lingerie theme shower is okay with her or if she would be uncomfortable with this type of gifts and shower

2. Set a date and time with the bride that works for her and other important guests that would contribute to the party’s success – all the bridesmaids, the mother of the bride and mother of the groom, sisters, aunts, etc.

End of Summer Burgers Recipe & Barbecue Invitations

Saturday, August 7th, 2010

With Labor Day a month away, it’s already time to think about sending out invitations to a barbecue, an end of summer party or a back to school party.

Ranch Cheeseburgers on the Grill

There’s nothing like a barbecue to enjoy the outdoors and all your favorite summer foods before the cooler temperatures of fall force us to once again cook on our stove instead of the barbie.

Hamburgers are a favorite of young and old alike, and a great change on an old favorite is to serve Ranch Hamburgers. They don’t take any longer to make, but the unexpected added flavor will make this recipe a hit.

Haunted House decorating tips for your Halloween Party

Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010

11 Haunted House Decorating TipsHalloween is a great holiday to put your family’s imagination to work, starting with a Spooktacular haunted house!  If you’re having a Halloween party, here are a few decorating tips to make sure your guests have a ghoulishly good time.

  1. Choose a theme.  The first thing you need to do is decide how scary you want to make your house
  2. Plan an entrance and an exit
  3. Add eerie lighting. With some black and red light bulbs, you can change the overall atmosphere of your house. Strobe lights are very effective for disorientating your guests and revealing shocking scenes in little bursts
  4. Black lights add a creepy touch when they’re paired with flourescent paint or glow-in-the-dark cut-outs
  5. Include lots of unexpected scary sounds and music. You can download them from the internet (including the Haunted House sounds)
  6. Make it dark using black trash bags or blankets to cover the windows
  7. Fog is easy to create by mixing dry ice and hot water. Find a local retailer here, just enter your zipcode.
  8. Any house can look abandoned if you cover most furniture with white sheets and then place fake cobwebs in the corners
  9. Use peeled grapes as eyeballs, placing them where people will touch them in the dark.
  10. Use Styrofoam heads from a beauty supply house and turn them into monsters
  11. Spritz visitors’ faces with cold water in the dark or have visitors walk through spider webs made of stretched cotton or silly strings
